Let's Have A Party

Happy Thursday, B&B!

As my graduation approaches, my mother and I are hopping into party planning mode. As most people agree, party planning can be very stressful, especially when things don’t go exactly as you envisioned. Nevertheless, I decided to share with you my top party planning tips to keep you from ripping your hair out :)

1. Pick A Theme: Pick a theme/ color scheme and stick to it. It makes everything much easier and makes it all flow coherently.
2. Divide The Guest List: Make your guest list and assign each person to a category- must be there, should be there, and would be nice to be there. It really helps you prioritize who you’re inviting (which helps you stay on budget.)
3. Be Flexible: Be flexible in all aspects- budget, guest list, decor, food, etc. Not everything will go perfectly, and that’s okay. Just roll with it and see what you can do to recover.
4. Keep It Simple: This one refers mainly to menu. Have a few great dishes, a few desserts, and a range of drink choices, but don’t make the selection too huge. If you do, you just end up overwhelming people (plus then you’re stuck with leftovers for forever.)
5. Have Fun With It: As stressful as it can be, you need to enjoy the process and the party. If you feel yourself getting overwhelmed, just take a breath and bring yourself back to a good place. Remember that the point of a party is to celebrate and have a good time, not fret and worry.

Happy Planning!

Forever on the 50,

C
