Lilly For Target

Happy Tuesday, B&B!

Today I want to talk about a widely discussed, highly controversial topic. Lilly Pulitzer is releasing a line for Target that comes out April 19. I need to preface this by saying Target is my favorite place ever, and Lilly Pulitzer stores are a close second (if not tied for first.) Many people, however, are very upset about its release. People feel that Lilly is an iconic thing. Lilly girls seek out fellow Lilly girls. People are upset that Lilly’s line for Target won’t make Lilly “special” anymore. It’s no secret that regular Lilly is pricey, and that the Target line will be much cheaper. Personally, I’m not as upset about the fact that more people will have access to Lilly, but I am, however, concerned that the quality will decline. How can Lilly sell dresses for $300, then sell others for $38? They’ve created a double edged-sword for themselves: either the originals aren’t worth the price, or the cheaper ones will not be of quality. I can’t see such an argument panning out well either way. How do you feel about the Lilly for Target line?

Loving Lace

Happy Monday, Bows and Blitzes!

How adorable is this dress from J.Crew?! It’s so simple and classic yet so beautiful and on-trend for Spring. The mint color would make a tan pop, but it also comes in orange, dark cognac, and navy. What do you think?!

Sweet On You

Happy Friday, Bows and Blitzes!

Just thought I would pop in and show you my new favorite nail color. It’s OPI’s “Sweetheart.” It is SO pretty for spring! I love lighter/ brighter colors for March-August, and this is a perfect transition color that is so neutral. (photo credit to focusonthequiet.blogspot.com)What’s your favorite spring polish?!

Keep It Short

Happy Thursday, Bows and Blitzes!

I was parsing my typical websites the other day when I came across these on Lululemon! They seem like the perfect crops to me for Spring (when it’s too warm to wear full on sweats but too cold to wear shorts/leggings?) I also love the green color! What do you think?

Flatlined

Happy Wednesday, Dolls!

So, here’s the thing. I’m obsessed with flats. I think they’re super practical and can be extremely adorable. That being said, I love my stilettos just as much as the next girl, but sometimes they just can’t cut it comfort wise. Enter: brands like Tory Burch. These flats are the cutest little things and are very moderately priced for being Tory’s. My personal favorites are the tan and yellow, but these shoes also come in coral with a tan tip and black on black! The pointed toe makes them more formal but the bright colors make them still fun! How do you feel about flats?

Countdown To Summer: Saint James Meridien II

Happy Tuesday B&B!

Something I think SCREAMS “Summer” is any combo of navy/ white, but more specifically, navy and white stripes. J.Crew carries Saint James Meridien II tees and they are the best thing ever. They’re unisex, so they’re a relaxed fit but still give off a put together vibe. Size down if you want  a more fitted shirt! I would style this tee with white pants/shorts, distressed jeans, or any pair of colored chinos. $85 is pricey for a tee, but these shirts are so quality that, when taken care of, they last upwards of 20 years, so they’re a great investment piece! What do you think of the Saint James Meridien II?

Weekend Recap 3.22.15

Happy Monday, Bows and Blitzes!

Friday, I went to a party at my friend Nadia’s house! It was 80s/90s themed and I had so much fun! I decided to step outside of my comfort zone of preppy/classic and I went for a “90s grunge” look! It was fun for the night, but I definitely don’t think I could stick to it! Saturday I just went for an ice cream run with  few friends, and Sunday I went to a friend’s birthday dinner! I have a crazy week ahead of me so if posting gets spotty, I apologize in advance. I love you all and hope you have a great week!

Spotlight: Smoking Slippers

Happy Friday, Darlings!

So, I have a dilemma. I reeeeeally want a pair of smoking slippers. I would LOVE a pair of Hadleigh's, but I just can’t justify spending nearly $400 on a pair of shoes that really aren’t special. They’re simple, they’re plain.  These Enzo Angiolini Loafers from Nordstrom are a possible contender!

Should I take the plunge? Do any of you own smoking slippers? What are your favorites?

Sunny With Spade

Happy Thursday, B&B!

Recently, my heart was shattered into a million pieces. That’s right, shattered. You see, my favorite pair of sunglasses EVER snapped right in half and for a solid 90 seconds, I was inconsolable. I paid a grand total of $4 for those sunnies and they lasted me 3 (almost 4) summers. Though I will never be able to replace them, I need a new pair of go-to sunglasses. I spotted the Kate Spade Cerce’s Bow Sunglasses and I’m debating purchasing. What do you think? Are they worth it? Let me know!

Countdown To Summer: Kiel James Patrick

Happy Wednesday, Lovelies!

Summer is on its way! During the Summer, unless I am going to dinner or have a special event, I tend to keep my outfits simple and accessories minimal. That being said, I think the perfect mix of “giving effort” and “relaxed” lies in the accessories that are Kiel James Patrick! (namely, their bracelets.) They’re Nautical, Summery and just adorable. Above are a few of my favorites! Do any of you love KJP as much as I do?!

Weekend Recap 3.15.15

Happy Monday, Bows and Blitzes!

I honestly had a very low-key weekend. Friday, I went to dinner with my parents, then came home and read. I’m currently in the middle of Silver Girl by Elin Hilderbrand! I read The Island by her and I loved it, so I figured “why not give her other books a shot?” They are easy reads, though not necessarily light-hearted. They’re usually set on Nantucket in July, so needless to say, I’m in a Summer mood!

Saturday night, I chaperoned a casual dance at my school. Sunday, I had my usual lazy Sunday morning with my coffee. I usually just do things on Sunday to prepare for the rest of the week! What did you all do this weekend?

Let's Have A Party

Happy Thursday, B&B!

As my graduation approaches, my mother and I are hopping into party planning mode. As most people agree, party planning can be very stressful, especially when things don’t go exactly as you envisioned. Nevertheless, I decided to share with you my top party planning tips to keep you from ripping your hair out :)

1. Pick A Theme: Pick a theme/ color scheme and stick to it. It makes everything much easier and makes it all flow coherently.
2. Divide The Guest List: Make your guest list and assign each person to a category- must be there, should be there, and would be nice to be there. It really helps you prioritize who you’re inviting (which helps you stay on budget.)
3. Be Flexible: Be flexible in all aspects- budget, guest list, decor, food, etc. Not everything will go perfectly, and that’s okay. Just roll with it and see what you can do to recover.
4. Keep It Simple: This one refers mainly to menu. Have a few great dishes, a few desserts, and a range of drink choices, but don’t make the selection too huge. If you do, you just end up overwhelming people (plus then you’re stuck with leftovers for forever.)
5. Have Fun With It: As stressful as it can be, you need to enjoy the process and the party. If you feel yourself getting overwhelmed, just take a breath and bring yourself back to a good place. Remember that the point of a party is to celebrate and have a good time, not fret and worry.

Happy Planning!

Easy Like A Wednesday Morning

Happy Wednesday, B&B!
I didn't have class today, so I decided to make today an "easy" morning. I slept in, made breakfast for once (a far cry from my usual banana and Starbucks in the morning,) and just decided to take the day slowly. I think it's necessary for all of us to "chill" sometimes and just appreciate the beauty life has to offer. Do any of you ever "take it easy"? Have a great day!

A Lasting Impression

Happy Monday Bows and Blitzes!

I'm sure most of you know by now that the "First Impression" print has been re-released by Lilly Pulitzer! It's back in blue and yellow (though I'm partial to the yellow myself.) This dress has caught my eye and I am in love. Grad party dress? It's in the running! How do you all feel about the re-release? Have a great week!
