Happy Thursday, Dolls!

Something I’m quite fond of is my monogrammed Tervis tumbler. Mine is navy and I usually pair it with a pink lid! Tervis tumblers are great for Summer because they’re spill and shatter proof (plus they’re just adorable.) They’re also double walled and insulate tremendously! I think they’re a preppy staple and should go with you everywhere. Do any of you love your tervis as much as I do?

Are Palazzos Worth It?

So, it’s no secret that I’m a Lilly girl. Shifts, Maxis, Callahan’s, Elsa’s, phone cases, you name it, I own it. I do not, however, own a pair of Palazzo Pants! I love the print “Worth It,” and I really love it on these pants. I’m just weary of buying a pair in case I don’t like the way they fit! DO any of you have Palazzo Pants? Happy Tuesday, B&B!

Today’s post is a little different! As most of you know, I love yoga. Like, Ido it daily and cannot live without it. That being said, I feel like not many people know the what/how/why’s of yoga and meditation! So without further ado, here’s cPe’s guide to becoming a yogi.

What: In it’s simplest form, yoga is stretching with breathing. Meditation is allowing your mind to be free to move to whatever it moves to without consciously controlling it. Western yoga is inspired by but different than traditional Hindu yoga. Westernized yoga is more used as means of exercise and athleticism, whereas Hindu yoga is used to connect with a higher power.

How: It’s easy. All you need is yourself. Yoga With Adrienne is a good youtube channel for beginners if you’re interested in at-home yoga, or you could always take a yoga class!

Why: There is no feeling quite like the stress relief of yoga. It clears your mind, strengthens your body, and overall makes me a more understanding and calm person. I recommend yoga to everyone and anyone!

Weekend Recap: 4.26.15

Happy Monday, B&B!

Friday afternoon, I went dress shopping! I found this dress at Dillard’s, and I’m planning on wearing it to my graduation party. It’s Calvin Klein and I could not be more in love. I’m also in love with the fact that I’m done dress shopping for all of my graduation festivities, now all I have to do is have fun!

Saturday, I went to a dance recital of a family friend’s! She absolutely killed it! Above is what I wore. I like the contrast and balance that’s created by the torn jeans and formal blazer. 

Saturday evening I worked on my final project of my theology class. This is my last week of school! (crazy to believe, isn’t it?!) What do you guys think of the final product?!

This weekend was low-key for me. I didn’t do much; just kinda hung around, but Friday afternoon I went on a walk at my favorite park with my bff eGm. She’s one of my favorite people in the world. Saturday, I babysat, and Sunday, I cleaned! What did you do this weekend?!

Countdown to Summer: Summer Must Haves

Happy Friday, Bows and Blitzes!

Congrats, ladies, you’ve made it through another week and you are one week closer to Summer! As Summer nears, I’ve decided to make a “Summer Essentials” list for y’all! So without further ado and in no particular order, here are my absolute must-haves for summer. 

Sunscreen: Everyone needs sunscreen. I am a huge proponent of catching a tan, but skin cancer really scares me, like really scares me. SO I use an SPF 30, that way I still get some color but can have peace of mind knowing I’m not frying myself. I like Hawaiian Tropic and Sun Bum sunscreens, but I also use Maui Babe Browning lotion which really helps me get a deep tan.

Sunless Tanner: Because I can’t get as dark as I would like to using sunscreen, I use a self tanner to help speed things along. My absolute favorite is Fake Bake flawless. It’s not streaky, buildable, gives great color payoff, and has a pleasant scent. I’ve also heard great things about Loving Tan, but I’m yet to try it!

Bronzer: Here’s a secret, during the summer months, I only use powder makeup. I put on a powder foundation, bronzer, blush, then swipe on some mascara and lipgloss and call it a day. My favorite Summer bronzer is Milani baked bronzer. It has shimmer, which I like in a summer bronzer as opposed to matte, because it’s not for contouring. A little shimmer looks pretty in the sun!

Blush: Same principle as above. My favorite Summer blush is Milani baked blush in Luminoso. It’s a hot coral color that really flatters my skin tone and also looks great because of my green eyes. I love the way blush wakes you up and makes you look so fresh.

Sunglasses: I love a good pair of sunnies. I’m a big fan of aviators, but I love wayfarers too! Just find a pair you like that fits your face shape and you should be set!

Bathing Suits: Once again, this one varies. Find one you feel comfortable in and rock it!

Shorts: In as many colors and prints as you can find. I’m a huge fan of J.Crew Chinos and Lilly Pulitzer Callahans. 

Sandals: More than flip flops. Find a good pair of leather sandals that have some sort of sustenance to them, they’ll last forever (even if the Summer doesn’t.)

Sundresses: Flowy, long, short, doesn’t matter! If it keeps you cool and makes you feel pretty, you found a great one.

A Hat: I love sun hats just as much as baseball caps, it all depends on what I’m doing and who I’m with! I love hats from Cappelli Straworld and Vineyard Vines.

How perfect is this Antonio Melani dress from Dillard's?! I saw it while shopping with my bff eGm the other day, and fell in love with the hot coral color. It looks a lot more orange online than in person, and it doesn’t look nearly as bright as in person. I’m thinking about getting it as a may crowning dress. What do you think?!

Braids For Days

Happy Thursday, B&B!

Lately, I have been super into “different” braids. The above pics are ones I found on pinterest, and I really want to try both! I think braids are great for Spring/Summer, and I also think they’re easy to dress up or down. There’s also so many options! I like a polished side braid for a dinner with friends, but I’m also notorious for middle parting my hair and giving myself braid pigtails for a day just lounging/ at school. Braids are a great way to have your hair out of your face without being pulling your hair so tight, too, which is great if you’re a migraine sufferer like me. Do any of you wear braids often? How do you style your braids?

On My Short List

Happy Monday, Bows and Blitzes!

Spring is officially here! The weather is getting warmer, the clothes are getting brighter, and life is getting better! 

Recently, I’ve started to order more of my morning coffee iced (though I haven’t totally made the switch yet.) I’m loving iced caramel macchiatos, iced lattes, and iced tea lately, though I’m still partial to just my plain iced black coffee. 

I’ve seen previews for this movie for forever, but I really am getting excited for The Age of Adeline! It comes out April 24 and stars Blake Lively (aka the queen of the universe.)

Finally, I need Summer book suggestions! My list is growing but I still think it needs some oomph. What are you reading this week over Spring Break/ what’s on your list for Summer?
