On The Hunt

Happy Thursday, Darlings.

Patience is not my strong suit. I have been waiting on my Military Red Hunter Boots for less than a week, but it feels like a lifetime! The outfit combos are already piling up in my head! Any suggestions?! Have a great Thursday!

Hallowthanksmas

Happy Wednesday B&B!

Maybe I’m eager, but just so everyone else knows…there’s only 57 days until Christmas. I am SO excited to craft, shop, and carol my way into the season. But in the meantime…HALLOWEEN IS IN TWO DAYS. I am so excited to see all of the little trick or treaters! (bonus candy if you’re dressed as a princess.) What are your favorite costumes to see?! Have a great day!

Changing With the Leaves

Hello Darlings!

I hope you’re all having a magnificent Tuesday. Today’s topic is a little more…let’s say “heavy.” It’s not about cute stationary or preppy outfits or touchdowns (kinda,) but today, I want to talk about change. I think we all agree that change happens regardless of how we feel about it. Change can be good, bad, or neutral- something else we can all agree on. Here’s the unpopular thing: no matter what, change is necessary for growth. As someone who is going to go through a lot of change in the next several months (college decisions, turning 18, graduation, going off to college, etc.) I think I can say that with confidence.

This past weekend, I watched my last ever high school football game (at least until I come back and visit as a college student.) It’s just so strange to think that every Fall of my entire childhood was spent watching my daddy coach on Friday nights, and next year, when I’m away at school, I won’t get to do that. This is a sad change, but it also means I’m growing up. I am ready to change and grow up and become the person I am going to be, but just because I’m ready doesn’t make it less scary. Relationships with the people I love are going to change, too. Some of these relationships will grow and be cemented for life, others will drift away, but maybe, just maybe, great things will come with great change. I guess the whole point of this post is to encourage you to all to keep an open mind, and accept change for what it is- for it’s unavoidable anyways. I hope you all have a very blessed day.

For Audrey

Happy Monday, Bows and Blitzes!

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! This year for Halloween, I decided I want to be Audrey Hepburn. Part of this is sheer laziness (the costume is SO simple,) but I also adore Audrey. She’s so classically beautiful! A black dress, some pearls, some gloves, and a baby tiara are all you need for the full transformation. What are all of you being for Halloween?! Have a great day :)

Football Friday/ Friday Favorites 10.24.14

Happy Friday Bows and Blitzes!

The weekend is finally here! :) Tonight is kind of melancholy for me. This is the last football game I will ever watch as a high school senior (my dad’s team is out of town next week and he doesn’t want my family to go because it’s Halloween Night.) It’s really hard to believe that the thing I’ve grown up around is about to end. Being around football has shaped me into the person I am today, as dumb as that sounds. As I posted here, the football lifestyle is one unlike any other. It’s full of highs and lows, plenty of trials and tribulations, but it also can be so rewarding- and, regardless of how the seasons turn out, it surrounds you with an amazing group of people. I could not be more thankful for my Football Fam, and I owe them a lot. So, fam who read my blog- I love all of you, and thank you for all that you do. You guys are my favorites.

Speaking of favorites…how about some Friday Favorites?!

Favorite Song: The Boys of Fall by Kenny Chesney (it’s only appropriate.)

Favorite Purchase: My Hunter Original Tall Rain Boots in Military Red. Slay.

Favorite Invention: Gel Nail Polish. As I posted Sunday, I got my nails done this week- and it has been a life saver not having to worry about them. I always wonder why i don’t get gel more often!

Favorite Show: American Horror Story beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Favorite Perk: Victoria’s Secret Free Underwear Coupons (anybody else get super excited when they get these in the mail? just me? okay cool.)

What are your faves from this week?! Have a great weekend!

Top Ten Tuesdays: Fall Candles

Happy Tuesday Bows and Blitzes!

Something I adore are candles. They can set the mood for pretty much any situation, and who doesn’t love yummy scents in their home?! I’m fortunate enough to not be sensitive to candle scents like so many people are. Bath and Body Works and Yankee are probably my two favorite candle brands. They’re good quality, fairly clean burning, and last for hours, not to mention some of them smell amazing. Here are my Top Ten Fall Candle Scents!

10) Mahogany Teakwood- pretty masculine smelling, but I love that sort of scent so it’s good for me. (BBW)

9) Pumpkin Caramel Latte- Coffee and pumpkin- what’s not to love? (BBW)

8) Lucky Shamrock- It’s Notre Dame themed and smells like a football field. This candle was made for me! (Yankee)

7) Farmer’s Market- Smells like it sounds (pumpkin, etc.) (Yankee)

6) Pumpkin Cupcake- Smells just like an actual recipe I make! (BBW)

5) Warm Caramel Cider- Perfect for burning while watching Halloween movies! (BBW)

4) Cinnamon Sugared Doughnut- Great transition Fall candle for after Halloween but not quite Thanksgiving! (BBW)

3) Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin- Sweet but still spicy. (BBW)

2) Sweater Weather- Still festive but also super duper clean smelling. Highly recommend for a kitchen area! (BBW)

1) Leaves- This candle is the Holy Grail of candles. It perfectly embodies Fall in a single scent, and I hope Bath and Body Works NEVER discontinues it. If you haven’t smelled this yet- I highly recommend you do so. It is wonderful- run, don’t walk, to you nearest BBW and clear. the. shelves. (BBW)

What are your favorites?! Have a blessed day!

Take Note

Happy Monday Bows and Blitzes!

Call me traditional, but I am an absolute sucker for handwritten notes/letters/cards. I just think they’re so personal and so beautiful. Plus, they’re great keepsakes (or reminders of why that person is in your life in the first place.) A huge part of those letters is beautiful stationary! Kate Spade is always a good bet, as you can see above! Do any of you have favorite stationary brands?! Have a blessed week!

Weekend Recap-10.19.14

Happy Sunday Darlings!

This has been such a solid weekend! Friday during the day, we had senior class bonding at the corn maze! So much fun and SO many cute pictures taken! Friday night, I went to my dad’s game. Unfortunately, the titans were not victorious; however, they played against my uncle’s high school, so that game is always a fun family affair. I also took my friend Erin with me to the game! Obviously, we sat on the 50 with the rest of the Football Fam, and we had a blast.

Saturday, I helped my aunt do some things around her house! She’s single so she can use some extra help from my brother and me sometimes. After it was all done, she told me she was buying me new Hunter boots as a thank you! I was SHOCKED. Saturday night, I got my nails done with Erin! Mine are Gelish color 55 (my hand is on top,) which is a tan with sparkles, hers are Gelish color 22, which is a bright cherry red! I wish I had the actual names, the salon just listed them by numbers. :(

Sunday, I got coffee with someone in the morning, then had volleyball in the afternoon. Sundays are always great in my world! What did all of you do this weekend?! Have a blessed week!

Happy Saturday, B&B!

So, I know it’s not even Halloween yet…but I just can’t help it, I’m already excited for Christmas. I saw this pin the other day and I thought of how close Christmas really is! 68 days left :) Are any of you as excited for Christmas as I am?!  Have a great weekend!

Football Friday/ Friday Favorites 10.17.18

Happy Friday Bows and Blitzes!

As you all read this, I will be navigating my way through a corn maze. Today, my class does not have school. Instead, all of us are partaking in a “senior bonding day,” sponsored by our school! I am so excited we are going to a corn maze- then again, anything Fall related speaks to me. I also am going to my dad’s game tonight. We actually play against my uncle’s team, so the whole thing will be a family affair. I cannot believe there are only a few games left in the season! It seems like football season is flying by especially quickly this year (make it stop!!!!) Football is honestly my favorite sport, and I am always sad to see it go. Speaking of my favorite sport… how about some Friday Favorites for all of you?!

Favorite Clothing Item: My OSU sparkle 1/2 zip. So cozy and oh so cute.

Favorite Nail Color: OPI’s Incognito in Sausalito. Navy is my thing, I know.

Favorite Drink: I’m really feeling chai tea lately! (Maybe I’m just waiting until Peppermint White Mochas are seasonally acceptable to order again.)

Favorite Accessory: Burberry Plaid Scarf. An absolute classic.

Favorite Necessity: Lululemon headbands. So convenient for keeping my hair back during volleyball games!

What are your weekly favorites?! Have a great Friday!

Think Pink in October

Happy Thursday B&B!

As I’m sure many of you are aware, October is Brest Cancer Awareness Month. Personally- I know way too many people who have had/ have been affected by this disease. One of my best friends (with whom I grew up- our parents are friends,) Matt, lost his mom three years ago this December. She passed away the day after Christmas. One of my current teachers is just finishing her treatment for breast cancer. Though these two have hit closest to home, I know countless other people who have been affected. I’m sure all of you can say the same. Essentially, I’m writing this post to encourage all of you to raise awareness, donate, and of course- wear your pink- to support those fighting. Have a super blessed day.

An Eye on Black Watch

Happy Wednesday Bows and Blitzes!

(You rock that tartan, Kate.)

Those who read B&B religiously know that I love plaid. My dad and his family are literally off the boat from Scotland, which makes me exactly 50% Scottish (so saying plaid is in my blood is actually spot on.) Though I love pretty much any tartan, I have to admit- black watch is my favorite. It also just so happens that my family’s (read: clan’s) tartan is black watch!

I already posted about my black watch Sperry top-siders, but here’s another picture in case you need a reminder.

My newest obsession is these Brook’s Brothers Black Watch Pants. Come to mama.

I also love this Brook’s Brother’s Black Watch Blazer, but I would not style it over a Black Watch dress (or wear it with Black Watch pants, for that matter.)

Honestly, I just really, really, really love plaid.

Top Ten Tuesdays- Halloween Movies

Hellooo Darlings!

Today I decided to do a non-fashion related post. Fall is my favorite season, and Halloween is tied for my favorite holiday. There is nothing better that curling up with a blanket and cup of mulled cider (in your favorite mug, of course,) and watching a Halloween movie. Whether the movie you watch is scary or a Disney creation, all of them make for a good time (okay, so, I realize that I’m kind of a freak because I love horror movies. no ragretz.) Without further ado, here are my top ten (in order) favorite Halloween movies!

1) Hocus Pocus. An absolute classic!

2) Halloweentown (all four of them.) Growing up, I wanted to be Marnie so bad.

3) Halloween (the original is best.) There’s just something fun about being scared!

4) Sinister. This movie made my skin crawl, but it was honestly one of the best written movies I’ve ever seen.

5) The Addams Family. Also a classic!

6) It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. Just reminiscing on my childhood here, no biggie.

7) The Nightmare Before Christmas. Some people argue that it’s a Christmas movie. I prefer not to think of skeletons during Christmas time, but that’s just me.

8) The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Literally a classic piece of literature, and oh so wonderful this time of year!

9) Twitches. Not really that great but still a Halloween movie!

10) Mom’s Got A Date With A Vampire. I LOVED this movie growing up, and I haven’t watched it in a while. I think I need to revisit it before the 31st.

What are your favorite Halloween movies?! Have a great day!

It's Just a Bunch of Hocus Pocus

Happy Monday Bows and Blitzes!

I’m lucky enough to not have school today! :) In accordance with not having classes, my school decided to host a bon fire/ movie night last night. The movie they showed was Hocus Pocus (my all time favorite Halloween movie.) The bon fire itself was AWESOME and kept everybody super toasty! There also was a popcorn bar that had lots of yummy toppings. Sipping on some herbal tea and watching Hocus Pocus with my sisters really was a great way to spend my Sunday. The weather was perfectly crisp too- dare I say it was the perfect Fall night?

I wanted to nail the preppy yet cozy chic look, so I borrowed a sweater from my Dad (I wanted it super big and slouchy,) and paired it with a Burberry plaid scarf (maybe my favorite accessory.) I just wore black leggings and black boots on bottom!

What would you wear to a bon fire?! Have a great Monday!

Sunday Funday

Happy Sunday B&B!

(Play-dough has always been one of my favorite things. I babysat a few days this week, and when the kids suggested play-dough, I was 100% on board! So fun and such a great stress reliever.)

I’m sorry for the absence this weekend! This passed week was the LAST of my crazy weeks and I couldn’t be happier about it! I am so looking forward to just enjoying the rest of Fall and getting cozy for these upcoming Winter months! I also am very excited to get back into my Fall crafting groove. I have so many projects planned, it’s just a matter of sitting down and actually doing them! I also have some super cool posts coming for you guys this week, so be sure to stay tuned. Have a very blessed Sunday!

Football Friday/Friday Favorites 10.10.10

Happy Friday, B and B!

(Lipstick is Black Cherry)

I cannot believe it is already week 7 of football season. This year is FLYING. The titans are doing okay this year. Heading into tonight, we’re 2-4. Not ideal, but this season could still end semi-well. It’ll be interesting to see how the rest of the year goes! The Football Fam is sticking together this season more than ever and I could not love it more. I am so blessed to be a part of something so great. On a different note, how about some Friday Favorites?!

Favorite Drink: Hot Apple Cider. ’Tis Bae these days.

Favorite Beauty Item: I am loving my Revlon lipstick in Black Cherry still. SO Fall!

Favorite Accessory: Burberry Scarf. So cute, so cozy, and so practical because it has been SO cold this week!

Favorite Treat: Caramel Apple Suckers. A Fall tradition.

Favorite Plans: I have so many friends coming home from college this weekend, I cannot wait to see all of them!

What are your Friday Favorites?! Have a great weekend!

Christmas in October

Happy Thursday!

I have already been asked for my Christmas list by my family. A) It is October. B) I always hated making Christmas lists. It always seemed a little rude to me to ask for specific presents. ANYWAYS, I have compiled some things that I just may drop hints about…

Red Hunter Boots. Yes Please.

Navy Bean Boots. Very high quality and oh so adorable.

Filigree Monogram Necklace. Believe it or not, I don’t have one yet!

Tiffany coffee mug. Because who wouldn’t want to drink out of a little blue box?

Any and all OSU apparrel, because, go bucks.

That’s all I have thus far! What are you guys eyeing up?! Have a great day!
