Count Your Blessings

Happy Wednesday, Babies!

Lately, I’ve been going through a rough patch. A “rut” if you will. So instead of letting myself be sad and wallow in self pity, I decided to recall all that I’m thankful to have in my life, so that I’m counting blessings instead of problems. In no particular order, I am thankful for:

- My best friends. eGm, mWm, cBs, and lUj. Y’all are my rocks.

-My family. They’re crazy, but I wouldn’t trade them for anything.

-Bows and Blitzes. Just brings me joy :)

-Pink flowers. Peonies, tulips, roses, whatever they are, they will light up any room.

-Scented candles, because sometimes, you just need to de-stress.

-Starbucks because caffeine is my fav.

-Lilly Pulitzer. Who doesn’t love brightly colored, fun prints?!

-Yoga. Keeps me calm.

-Lululemon. Makes me look good while I’m keeping calm.

The other day, I was browsing Tiffany & Co.’s website, and I stumbled upon this ring. It’s so dainty, so simple, yet so classic and elegant (not to mention, extremely romantic.) The thing I love about this ring is that you could give it to (or get it from) almost anyone! “I love you” could be parental love, romantic love, or platonic love (just hope the giver specifies or things could get really awkward really fast, ha!) What have you guys stumbled upon lately?!

Weekend Recap 1.23.15-1.25.15

This weekend was quite an adventure for me! Friday, I went to a hockey game. Saturday night, I went shopping and for a stroll around town with one of my friends, lUj! I love the way these pictures turned out. Our city really is cute. 

Sunday, I got a gel mani to kick my week off the proper way. I got pale pink, and I could not be more in love with it. Gel is just one of those things that I totally think is worth it. What did you all do this weekend?!

Super Charged

Happy Friday, Bows and Blitzes!

Lately, I have been thinking about investing in one of those mobile chargers…I received one from my parents for Christmas as a stocking stuffer, but it doesn’t work (which, I feel bad about, but my mom said it was only $10 so it’s not surprising.) Lilly Pulitzer makes them in super cute prints, but I really don’t want to spend $35 on something that won’t work. Have any of you tried the Lilly ones?! Do you have any other brands you recommend?! Dressed For "The Day"

As far as Valentine’s Day outfits go, Lilly Pulitzer is the place to shop. Both the Janice shift dress and the Topanga shift dress are perfect for the occasion! They both come in adorable shades of pink. The Topanga is lacey and exudes romance; the Janice would be better for a more formal dinner setting, but really you cannot go wrong with either.  What have you guys found to wear on Valentine’s Day?! Have you even started shopping yet?!

The (Unintentional) Holy Trinity

I came across these J.Crew earrings the other day and I think they are the cutest little things! They’re two of my favorite things in the world (diamonds and pearls) combined into one perfect accessory. Plus, if you’re Catholic like me, you could interpret the 3 pearls of the earrings to be The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit (though I’m positive that isn’t the point of the 3 pearls and I totally just made that up. #CatholicGirlProbs.) They’re a little pricey for a piece of costume jewelry, but they are real freshwater pearls, so that definitely needs to come into play. What do you all think of these?!

Bit By The Love Bug

I know i am completely premature on this one…but I am SO excited for Valentine’s Day! So many people dread the day and honestly- I just don’t get it. It’s pink, sparkly, filled with love, aaaand it’s the day before my birthday (so, like, bonus jonas.) But really, what’s not to love?! Candy hearts, pink flowers, cute Valentines, Valentine’s day outfits- the positives are endless. Does anyone else feel how I do about Valentine’s day?! I’ll make a gift guide soon :)

Happy Monday, Beauties!

Friday night, I attended a basketball game with my best friend, eGm. She’s actually my favorite person on the face of the earth and I would be beyond a hot mess if she wasn’t in my life (sooo shout out to you, fish.) The theme of the game was a “neon out,” which is great, considering my closet is 95% neutrals… I managed to find this neon popover from J.Crew! I paired it with black Lululemon leggings, black and tan Tory Burch riding boots, and an arm party. What were your weekend outfits?! See you tomorrow!

Sunny State of Mind

Happy Friday, Bows and Blitzes! 

Though it isn’t particularly sunny where I live (the high yesterday was 9. NINE DEGREES. I am in a tundra. but I digress…) it’s never the wrong season for a good pair of sunnies. Recently, my favorite pair of sunglasses broke (R.I.P. gold aviators…you served me well,) so I am in the market for a new pair. I have my plastic cheapies that I grab when I’m going to the lake or beach, but I need a more formal metal pair for dates, driving, shopping days, outdoor dinners, etc. 

Above are the classic Ray-Ban aviators. I love the gold, and I love the shape of aviators on my face! 

Another pair I’m considering are the Ray-Ban Clubmasters. They’re just so fun, but I have no clue what they would look like on.

Both pairs are the same price, so it doesn’t really matter which ones I choose. Do any of you have the aviators or the clubmasters? What are your thoughts?

Something I have always been into is reading. Some of my most vivid memories from my childhood are of my parents coming into my room and making me stop reading with a flashlight under my covers so that I could go to sleep. I loved reading, and to this day, I still do. Though life sometimes gets in the way and it takes me longer than I would like to finish a book, I always make sure I finish. There is nothing better than lighting a yummy candle, drinking some good tea, and curling up with a book! What are your favorite reads? What do you do to relax?

Winterfest

Happy Wednesday Dolls!

I hope y’all are having a very blessed week. The first week back after winter break is always a struggle to catch up and get back into routine! Over break, though, my town had an event going on called “Winterfest.” There was a huge outdoor ice skating rink that was played on by my town’s semi-pro hockey team, but there was open skate for the public at certain times throughout the month! It was a blast to be outside and having fun, even though it was a bit chilly! What did you guys do to stay busy over break?

Nailed It

Something I talk about quite frequently on the blog are nails. There’s just something about a manicure that makes me feel so put together! I love wearing darker colors during the winter, but I’m thinking I should switch it up pretty soon and add some color back into my life (well, my manicure, that is.) A few of my colorful favorites include “My Chihuahua Bites” by OPI, “Bikini So Teeny” by Essie, “Mint Candy Apple” by Essie, “Feelin' Hot Hot Hot” by OPI, “Lucky Lucky Lavender” by OPI, “Sweet Heart” by OPI, and “Pompeii Purple” by OPI (in order by name in above picture.) With the Exception of the Essie colors, all of them are in the pink/purple color family, that way, you can still get away with them being “Winter Colors.” Have no fear, I’m still loving my burgundies, taupes, grays, and navies, but it’s nice to switch it up every now and then! What are your favorite polishes?

Winter, With a Pop

Happy Monday, Bows and Blitzes!

One thing I have been very into lately are adding pops of color to bland, dark, Winter outfits. The weather is cold and gray, but that doesn't mean your wardrobe has to be! Let me be the first to say, I love neutrals. In fact, most of my clothes are neutrals, but something about post-holiday Winter is just so depressing, and I feel that adding pops of color to an otherwise neutral outfit really helps to lighten things up a bit (and put you in a better mood.) I love adding a bright scarf to a monochromatic outfit, or throwing on a colorful sweater over a white button-down with dark jeans or leggings. Anything that helps bring me to a sunny state of mind! Below are some of my favorites that I’ve scoped for y’all.

I’ve mentioned this before, but I really cannot get enough of my Vinyasa Scarf from Lululemon. Mine is in the color Menthol, and I really think it adds the perfect amount of “pop.” Not to mention, it is reversible and the other side is plain gray, plus it can be worn at least 10 different ways, so it really is extremely versatile!

Another thing I have found being debuted in bright colors is this J.Crew cashmere sweater. J.Crew is excellent quality, so I highly recommend the investment!

Another tried and true favorite is the Lilly Pulitzer Lillian scarf. The Murfee is excellent as well. Lilly prints are notorious for being bright and happy, so they’re sure to add some punch to any outfit. (Bonas: The Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale starts today! Kicking off 2015

Starting off this new year, I just want to remind everyone to take time every day to slow down and observe the greatness around you. 2015 is the time for you to do anything you want to do, or be anyone you want to be. Set your mind to it, and you'll achieve greatness. This is the only life you have, make it count.
