Ugg Australia Fall 2015

Happy Thursday, B&B!

You guys, I am SO torn. I'm debating getting a new pair of Uggs for this Fall/Winter. They're not cute, I know (although I think the bows add a cute feminine touch!) I would never and do not wear them with actual outfits, I wear them grocery shopping, on coffee runs, etc. I don't know what to do! I used to wear my Uggs every day in the winter when I was in junior high. I really love how cozy they are, but hate how they make every outfit look so casual and almost lazy. Do any of you still wear Uggs? How do you style them?

Recruitment Update

Happy Wednesday, B&B!

I'm officially halfway through sorority recruitment! This week has been exhausting, and it only gets crazier from here, but I am loving every second of it. I've met so many amazing women this week, and I know I have a great four years ahead of me. My two best tips for recruitment week: #1-work ahead in school. Do any assignments due that week before recruitment starts. You absolutely will not have time this week. Once you pledge it's different and school is your utmost priority, but this week you need to focus on meeting the girls. You'll thank yourself later when you actually get to go home and sleep when everyone else still has to do work. #2- Bring water and snacks. You usually have a break in between parties, and you'll need to refuel. I forgot to eat all day my first night of recruitment- no bueno. Water will be most necessary because of the amount of talking you'll be doing. I'm losing my voice and it's only Wednesday, I cannot even imagine how it's going to be by the end of the week! You will be so thirsty after talking to girls, saying the same thing, over and over again for 4 hours each night. Seriously, bring water. What sororities are you all in? What are your best recruitment tips?

It's Not Goodbye, It's See You Later

Today’s topic is a little more somber, but also exciting. As happy as I am to be beginning college, I am really struggling with all of the goodbyes. I feel like I’m losing some of my closest friends, like with every person that leaves, a little part of me is leaving, too. I’ve of course gone to goodbye dinners and spent my time with them, and have been keeping in touch with those that already left, but it never gets easier. What are your tips for dealing with “see you later?”

Look For Less: Smoking Slippers

If you've been reading my blog for a while, it's no secret that I love smoking slippers. I think they're just so classic and functional. I've been dying for a pair of Hadleigh's, but as a college student, I can't justify it. Cue sadness. Imagine my surprise when I saw my coworker wearing these shoes, I complimented her, and she told me they were from...wait for it... Old Navy! I really don't shop much at Old Navy because I think you can get cuter stuff elsewhere, but these took me by surprise. For less than $30, you really can't go wrong. Even if they only last a season, at least you didn't spend a fortune on them! I need to get a pair for myself, and I think you all do, too. What have you been looking at for Fall? Have any of you moved back to school yet?

Outdone in Outerwear

Happy Wednesday, B&B!

J.Crew is coming in hot this year for Fall and Winter outerwear. This cape is TO DIE FOR. I love that it comes in black and camel, so you can switch it up. I love a good cape-there’s just something about them that’s so classy and elegant. Definitely a good purchase. 

Also a good choice is this day coat. It comes in a wide variety of colors, which is excellent. I always have a hard time working color into my Fall and Winter wardrobe! It’s mostly black, gray, black, and more black. The most color I really wear from September-March is deep navy, burgundy or olive, so a colorful coat may be a remedy for that. I am in love with the “neon flame” color! I know it seems a little early for outerwear (it’s only August,) but everyone I know moves into school either this week or already has (some of my friends have even started classes!) so now is the time to buy, before you’re walking to class in chilly temps wearing nothing but a hoodie. What have you been seeing that would be great for Fall/Winter? Football season officially starts next week, by the way :)

Late Summer Reads

Lately, I've been trying to think of a list of books to read this coming Fall. I'm currently finishing The Matchmaker by Elin Hilderbrand, which is the perfect late-Summer read. It's breezy and fun, but still enthralling. I also really want to pick up the coffee table book of Mitford at the Fashion Zoo. It's a silly little story, but features people like Anna Wintour! What are some other cute coffee table books I could snag? Leave your favorites in the comments!

On a semi-related note, I am beyond ready for Fall. Pumpkin everything, falling temperatures, cozy cashmere, dark lipstick, FOOTBALL SEASON! I could not be more excited for it all to begin! Classes start August 24th for me, which means it won't be long until I'm bopping around campus with my PSL and bean boots! What's your favorite Season?

Little Moments

They forced me to take a step back and reprioritize. Lululemon Skirts

It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of Lululemon, and I talk about it here on the blog all the time. I wear Lu;u leggings like it's my job, but I've never tried their skirts! A lot of my friends played tennis, and our school used Lululemon for their uniforms, so they have the skirts and love them. This one caught my eye. I think it's so fun and cute without being "too much." I also think the stitching on the side adds fun, sporty detail! Have any of you tried Lululemon's skirts?

The Skimm

Do any of you read The Skimm? It's basically a condensed version of a newspaper that's sent to your inbox every day. It allows busy people to keep up with world events even if they don't have time to read a newspaper or watch the 6 o clock news! It's free and easy to sign up. Click here to start skimming! I'm so glad I did, especially as a college student. It reminds me that the world is bigger than my little university "bubble." Plus, it's written satirically, so it's always entertaining. Lilly Loves Bling

Today, I'm highlighting this dress from Lilly Pulitzer! I love navy. I think it's less harsh than black, but still provides neutrality. As soon as I saw this dress, it caught my eye. I think the darker color makes it a great transition piece between seasons- as is with sandals for late Summer dinners, add a wrap and heels for the Fall! I also love the delicate beading by the shoulders. It adds a touch of interest without being too "in your face." What are you seeing as great transition pieces?

What to Pack for College

Hey B&B!

As crazy as it sounds, school is right around the corner! I still have a few weeks, but my old school and the school my dad coaches at both start on Monday! Yes, Monday... isn't that just nuts?! I must admit, I am beyond ready for Fall. My nostalgia for October is actually beyond overwhelming. I love everything about it, and I'm especially excited to start college this Fall. I already did a post with a few good websites, but, my favorite blogger, Sydney Carver of SummerWind, had her sister do a guest post on what to bring for college. I think it has a really laid back vibe and is spot on! My best friend also goes to UK, and from what she's told me, this list couldn't be more accurate.

To those still in High School: make the most of it. If you love HS, live every moment to its absolute maximum. Go to every game, pep rally, fundraiser, and school-sponsored event you can. Love every second. If you're miserable in HS: hold on, I promise it doesn't last forever. In fact, it's over pretty quickly. Especially your senior year. Which leads me to my next point...seniors: do absolutely everything, even if you think you don't care. I have no regrets about my senior year and I'm proud to say that. However, that being said, you will do much bigger and better things in your life than anything you've done in high school. Just enjoy the ride while you're there.

Fall Fashion Question

I've gone to private school my whole life, and therefore have worn a uniform the past 12 years. I have plenty of cute Summer clothes, but I need to really build up my Fall wardrobe! I know it seems early, but I start school in three weeks (eek!) and I've noticed stores starting to transition their inventory. What are your Fall essentials?

This Fall, I'll finally be starting college! I am beyond excited to start the newest chapter in my life. Today, I decided to showcase what's new at Lululemon! If you've been reading here for a while, you know I have an obsession with Lulu. I think it's excellent quality and beyond worth it! This top (pictured above) is in my new favorites! I'm also loving these pants. I think they would be the perfect class-to-errands pant, or just nice for lounging. 

Last but not least, I have my eye on this jacket. I adore the plum color (pictured) but would not be opposed to a neutral, either! I think that, once again, it's perfect for lounging or yoga. What have you been eyeing at Lululemon?

Well, y'all, Lilly has done it again. This little number is the perfect shift. Wear it as is during the Spring/ Summer, or with a Blazer and tights during the Fall/Winter, and it suits the bill for both. It can be worn to work or dressed up for date night, and the color is absolutely stunning. P.S. Is anyone else MAJORLY tempted by all of these end of Summer sales?! So many good deals! Late Summer Fashion

Happy Monday, Bows and Blitzes!

The weather here is starting to feel a little different. It's definitely starting to give off that "end of Summer" vibe. It's still very warm, but it's not as humid (something I take as a sign of Fall coming.) I also heard the cicadas for the first time this weekend, which, according to old wive's tales, means six weeks until the first frost! Because of the different vibe, I've started to pull different pieces from my closet. Don't get me wrong, I'll be wearing Lilly until there's snow on the ground (let's be real, I'll always be wearing Lilly,) but I also wanted to pick up some solid transition pieces for this end of Summer/early Fall. This dress is one I picked up from my local Gap. I wear it to work, but it's one of those very versatile pieces that could take you from day to night with a shoe/jewelry change and a little bit more makeup! I wish I had a picture of myself in it, but I don't usually have time to take a selfie before work. It is one of the most comfortable dresses I've ever owned, though. What do you do to transition your wardrobe from Summer to Fall? Are you starting to feel that Summer has a different vibe now?

Ralph Lauren Totes

Happy Saturday, B&B!

I'm starting my search for the perfect Fall bag a little bit early this year. I want something functional but fashionable. I'm hoping to get one that's real leather, but I don't want to pay $400 for a bag as a college student. I think I've met my match with the Ralph Lauren  Crawley Shopper Tote. It's big, is made of beautiful leather, and has gold hardware (which is great since I wear mostly gold.) It's also on sale at Dillard's for only $131.60, which is an absolute steal for a leather handbag. I am, however, having trouble deciding which color! Which do you think is more versatile? Is there another bag you think I should invest in?

Lilly Switching It Up

How cute is this new shift from Lilly?! I think it is so different than anything Lilly has put out this year. I also think the yellow lace is less harsh than the white, which make sit an easier piece to transition from Summer to Fall.
